Safeguarding Adults Week 2021 - 21st - 25th June 2021

Virtual training and discussion groups will be available during the week on safeguarding. Last years topics included Adult Grooming, Scams and Financial Abuse, Mental Capacity Act and Self Neglect.

Safeguarding and Wellbeing

There’s a strong link between safeguarding and mental and physical wellbeing. In short, if someone’s wellbeing is suffering, they may consider certain actions that put them at risk.  This type of abuse includes a range of behaviour neglecting to care for one’s personal hygiene, health or surroundings and includes behaviour such as hoarding.

The ERSAB training staff hosted a free virtual training session via MS Teams. The presentation is available below.

Self Neglect Presentation

Adult Grooming

Grooming is a form of abuse that involves manipulating someone until they’re isolated, dependent, and more vulnerable to exploitation. Scams are schemes to cheat people out of their money. They come in a variety of ways; by post, phone, email, online and sometimes by a knock on the door.  The ERSAB training staff hosted a free virtual training session via MS Teams.  The presentation is available below.

Scams Presentation

Understanding Safeguarding Legislation

All safeguarding matters are governed by certain legislation, including The Care Act and The Mental Capacity Act. In the resources section of the ERSAB website, you’ll find an overview of numerous relevant laws and initiatives. But how well do you really understand safeguarding legislation?

ERSAB training staff hosted a virtual training session via MS Teams.  The presentation is available below.
